Arson, burglary probed at Central Nyack beauty supply store

CENTRAL NYACK - Firefighters responded this morning to what is being investigated as an arson fire at a beauty supply store located at 37 Route 59 in Central Nyack.

According to fire officials, a sprinkler system was activated and put out most of the flames at Beauty Supply, located in the rear section of the shopping center.

Police confirm a burglary occurred around 2:45 a.m. at the same location. Unknown items were taken, and it's not yet known if the suspect set the fire to try and cover up the burglary.

No one was injured in the fire and the incident is being investigated by detectives. There is currently no description of a suspect.
