MIDDLETOWN - A bomb threat yet again impacted a school in Middletown Wednesday.

Officials at the high school put emergency procedures into effect around 9:30 a.m. and placed the school into lockout/lockdown.

Students spent about four hours in locked classrooms while authorities swept the building.

Officials say there's been more than a dozen districtwide threats this school year. The latest one was phoned in Wednesday morning.

Police and fire department units searched the grounds and gave the all-clear around 1 p.m. No injuries were reported, and the school was dismissed at its regular time.

Only one 9-year-old student has been arrested in connection to past threats, but the FBI and police say it is difficult to track the calls and messages because of cellphone software and anonymous websites.
