CENTRAL VALLEY - A 9-year-old was able to fulfill a dream of his by scoring a touchdown during Monroe-Woodbury High School's game last Friday night.

Anthony Sancarello was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 6. Woodbury-Monroe varsity football coach James Hintze created a special play during halftime Friday just for Sancarello.

On Sancarello's first play of the game, he took the handoff from the quarterback, ran for 40 yards and then scored a touchdown. He says he was elated to score against a high school team.

Sancarello's mother, his biggest cheerleader, was present to see his winning play.
