AIRMONT - Critics continue to use every opportunity to push for the resignation of Ramapo Town Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence.

The latest outcry came Thursday morning during a public comment period at a Town Board meeting.

Earlier this year, St. Lawrence was indicted by a federal grand jury on securities fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy charges in connection with the sale of municipal bonds. Those bonds were used to finance construction of what was originally called Provident Bank Park in Pomona.

St. Lawrence's indictment triggered protests outside Town Hall and at board meetings.

The first meeting following the indictment did not include a public comment period, which some saw as an effort to silence critics.

St. Lawrence's criminal case is making its way to the federal courts, but he has said he will not step down. His current term as Ramapo town supervisor runs through the end of next year.
