CLARKSTOWN - Confusion reigns in Clarkstown over the sudden suspension of the police chief.

Chief Michael Sullivan, who has been with the police department for decades, learned he had been suspended with pay after a unanimous town board vote.

Officials say it's a personnel issue, citing allegations of misconduct.

Sullivan denies any wrong-doing. “I have an attorney and plan on fighting the charges and expect to be fully exonerated before it's done.”

Disciplinary charges that have been filed against Sullivan have not been made public at this time.
