YONKERS - Commuters who use Metro-North or take MTA bridges say they are not happy about the new fare increase even though they knew it was coming.

Starting Sunday, monthly and weekly Metro-North riders on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines saw an increase of up to 3.75 percent. Monthly increases will not exceed $15.

Drivers using MTA bridges saw E-ZPass tolls increase as much as 25 percent while cash tolls went up between 6 and 9 percent.

But not everyone thinks it’s that bad -- one driver tells News 12 if the fare hike is the worst thing the government does this year, then it will be a pretty good year.
