Construction crews on site of AMVETS Bridge

YORKTOWN - Construction crews started pouring concrete along the AMVETS Bridge on the Taconic Parkway in Yorktown. Project officials say the work is a major step toward reopening the span. The 81-year-old bridge crosses the Croton Reservoir along the Taconic Parkway and has been closed to traffic since the $26 million project began in April. Project officials tell News 12 Westchester that the concrete work will be done sometime next week.Officials with the Department of Transportation say the bridge will reopen in November.
