CARMEL - Days after his second conviction for the same killing was overturned, Anthony DiPippo was expected to ask a judge to grant him bail, but after an agreement with prosecutors, he did not.

Prosecutors and the defense agreed to reconvene on June 1 at Putnam County Courthouse. The district attorney's office requested two more months to review the case.

DiPippo had been twice convicted in the 1994 rape and murder of 12-year-old Josette Wright. Just this week, the second conviction was overturned, just as the first had been.

This time, the state's highest court overturned the second conviction, ruling that the defense should have been allowed to introduce evidence showing another suspect, a convicted sex offender, could be the killer.

Josette's mother, Susan Wright, says prosecutors told her they will seek a third trial.
