NEW YORK - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump met with Orthodox Jewish journalists in Manhattan Thursday ahead of next week's primary vote.

The Orthodox Jewish Public Affairs Council met with the real estate billionaire at his offices for about 30 minutes.

They say he discussed a range of issues, including his stance on Israel.

The group's co-founder, Rockland resident Yossi Gestetner, says it's important to speak with candidates firsthand.

"Regardless of what you think of a person's politics or policies and party affiliation, there's one important thing -- you got to talk," Gestetner says.

Gestetner says the group is not endorsing any candidates, but that members tend to lean toward conservative candidates.
