GOSHEN - A drug trafficking ring with ties to Hudson Valley was taken down, the state attorney general announced Thursday.

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman released a photo showing some of the suspects nabbed during what was called operation "Iron Horse."  He says 13 people were charged in connection with the drug ring.

Authorities say the drugs were shipped by train and bus from New York City to Newburgh and Pittsburgh.

Officials say that the alleged kingpin at the top is a man named Brian Bacon, also known as "the Prime Minister." They say he used his son, girlfriend and others to smuggle up to a kilo of heroin a month.

Bacon faces life in prison if convicted.
