Emergency crews staged a mock DWI crash outside Chester Academy Tuesday, designed to show students how dangerous drinking and driving can be.

Emergency responders cut students out of crushed cars and put them on stretchers as others watched. Many said that watching the demonstration was scary.

The school's junior class took part in the demonstration, dressed in their prom gowns and suits, and acted out the aftermath of the crash. School officials organized the demonstration just days before prom.

Earlier this week, students also heard from a speaker who was the driver in a fatal DWI crash.
