NEW CITY - A relaxing day of yoga turned into chaos Friday after a car crashed into a studio at 170 North Main St. in New City.

Felicia Somma, the owner of New City Yoga Center, says she was meditating when she heard a loud boom. She thought maybe a pipe had burst, but instead found a car smashed through her storefront with an elderly couple inside.

The 87-year-old driver tells News 12 he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. He says other than being a bit shaken up he is fine. He even kept his appointment at the bank.

No one was injured in the incident.

Classes at the studio are canceled for the weekend. However, storeowners hope to have the studio back up and running by Monday.
