NEW ROCHELLE - Police are searching for the suspect who broke into an elderly New Rochelle man's home, only to be attacked by the homeowner.

Officials say a man entered 92-year-old Tony Vanacore's home on Cadillac Drive last week, immediately assaulting a home health care worker. Vanacore says he lunged at the victim when he heard the commotion and called 911 as the intruder left.

"I had no fear," Vanacore said. "I just wanted to fight this guy."

Vanacore suffered minor injuries on his arms, but says he will recover.

Police say the same suspect may be connected to additional incidents in New Rochelle, as well as in Pelham and Pelham Manor.
