VALHALLA - Hurricane Arthur is making its way up the East Coast and emergency crews in the Hudson Valley are keeping a close eye on the storm.

Emergency dispatchers at Westchester's mobile command center in Valhalla are hard at work this holiday weekend, making sure lines of communication are open throughout the county.

Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is also watching the storm carefully. With help from Emergency Services Commissioner John Cullen, the county is working to ensure their storm response is better than it was during Sandy.

Residents are advised to have an emergency checklist and use common sense. In case of a storm, residents should have at least three days' worth of food and water in their home. All vehicles should also be fueled up, in case evacuations are ordered.
