Funeral held for Empire State Building shooting victim

WHITE PLAINS - Family and friends said a final farewell today to the Hudson Valley native who was gunned down near the Empire State Building last week.

Steven Ercolino's funeral Mass took place at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in White Plains. The 41-year-old, who grew up in Nanuet, was shot Friday by a former co-worker. That gunman, Jeffrey Johnson, was shot and killed moments later by New York City Police.

Ercolino's sister says the family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of public support. Friends say Ercolino was a family man who always wore his heart on his sleeve.
