GOSHEN - A group of Orange County students are coming together to help three of their classmates who lost their home in a fire over the weekend.

Seventh-grader Korrianne Moore started raising money for the family by giving her Easter money to classmate David Terach, who lost everything in the blaze.

Moore's social studies class has started a collection jar for the family. Teacher Paul Bennis says that his class’ efforts are supported by both the Goshen middle and high schools, which are also collecting money, gift cards and clothing for the family.

So far, the district has collected hundreds of dollars, but it is hoping for thousands.

Fire officials say that the blaze was caused by a car leaking gasoline in the garage. They say it appears the fire was accidental.
