Gov. Cuomo sets state on course for 2nd year

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo wants to build the world's largest convention center hotel at a New York City racetrack as part of his push to expand gambling in a bid for more state tax revenue and jobs.

During his second State of the State address, the first-termDemocrat proposed a nearly 4 million-square foot convention centerwith 3,000 hotel rooms located at the Aqueduct Racetrack.

Cuomo says it's appropriate for his state to the have thebiggest facility because New York is the "No. 1 state."

He's also calling for a rebuilding project to replace 100bridges and repair 2,000 miles of roads.

Cuomo, who is already mentioned as a potential 2016 presidentialcandidate, is also seeking voluntary public financing of politicalcampaigns and a cut in the amount of top donations.
