MONTGOMERY - Grisly details are emerging from a deadly crash involving six vehicles on I-84 in Orange County on Wednesday.

One person was killed in the chain-reaction collision involving four cars and two tractor-trailers in Montgomery.

Sources tell News 12 that the person who died was located inside a white van that was wedged between two tractor-trailers. Another person was heavily entrapped with the DOA victim for nearly two hours until being rescued by first responders.

Some of the injured victims were flown to Westchester Medical Center for treatment for serious injuries. Ambulances were used to transport three other patients to Orange Regional Medical Center, and two patients were taken to St Luke's Hospital.

The accident shut down the area for about seven hours. Police are working to figure out a cause of the crash, but they do believe speed is a factor.
