NEWBURGH - Orange County residents honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monday by giving back to the community.

Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity came out in the bitter cold to help make a warm home for a needy family in Newburgh.

The house is one of four on South Miller Street that will be given to a family in need.

Long-time volunteer Celeste Bloomer says the rewards of helping families achieve the American dream can be overwhelming.

"You get much more out of it than you put into it," she says.

Habitat for Humanity is hoping the houses will be finished sometime in the fall.
