NEW ROCHELLE - In high school boys basketball last night, New Rochelle hosted its long time rival and five-time defending Section 1 champions Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon senior Isaiah Cousins scored 14 of his game-high 22 points in the third quarter as Majors cruised past the Hugenots 82-48.

In other boys action, there was an overtime thriller on the other side of the bridge as Tappan Zee took on North Rockland. Brendan Donohue scored 18 points, and teammate Billy O'Shea added 16 as the Dutchmen beat the Red Raiders 61- 58 in OT.
