Huge blaze leaves Haverstraw family homeless

HAVERSTRAW - A Haverstraw family was left homeless after a huge blaze tore through their house yesterday. The strong fire began yesterday afternoon on Sharp Street. More than 100 firefighters from five different companies fought the flames and were able to put them out in around a half hour. Fire officials say that the family made it out of the house safely. Two firefighters suffered injuries and were sent to the hospital. Fire officials believe electrical reasons were the cause of the fire.
