TUXEDO - A collision between a motorcycle and two cars closed all lanes of the northbound I-87 in Orange County Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the accident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. in Tuxedo near Exit 41.

The location is a few miles south of the Woodbury toll plaza.

Officials say a medevac helicopter was needed to rush the motorcyclist to the hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

There is no word yet on what caused the accident.  The Thruway has since reopened.
