MONSEY - A deck collapsed Tuesday as dozens of children played in the backyard of a Monsey house, injuring children.

Officials say as many as 40 children were in the backyard of the house on Linderman Lane when the deck broke. Two children were treated for minor injuries at a hospital.

It is unclear what caused the deck to collapse, but a preliminary inspection found rotted wood and rusted bolts in a section of the deck. Code-enforcement investigators are conducting an investigation.

The homeowners didn't want to go on camera, and the children's party continued.
