YONKERS - The mother of missing Edgemont native, Lauren Spierer, released a statement on the family's website today pleading for answers about her daughter's disappearance.

In her statement, Spierer's mother, Charlene, says in part "I cannot think of Lauren without thinking of the person responsible for her disappearance. Your lack of compassion will be repaid in kind... Let today be the day someone thinks beyond their fears and actually considers what this never ending silence is doing to our family." Spierer, who has been missing more than one year, vanished after a night of partying near the campus of Indiana University.

Since then, police have conducted numerous searches and followed up on more than 2,600 tips.
