Lou Falco sworn in as Rockland County's top cop

NEW CITY - Capt. Lou Falco became Rockland County's top cop after being sworn in at a ceremony in New City today.

Lou Falco became the 50th sheriff of Rockland County. Falco has 34 years of law enforcement experience under his belt. In 2009, he was promoted to chief of the police division rank and in November he won the Rockland County sheriff's election.

Falco said he wants to concentrate the force's efforts on the corrections division, trying to lower the amount of prisoners who re-enter the system after being released.
