BLAUVELT - A number of homes in Rockland County were without water Monday afternoon because of an overnight water main break.

Officials say a 16-inch water main broke on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Sickletown Road in Blauvelt.

A total of about 25 homes are expected to be put under a boil water advisory because of the break, and some are without water. Officials say some residents may also experience discolored water and low water pressure for a while.

The cause of the break isn’t known at this time, but Suez water crews are working on the problem. They have not said when service will be restored.
