NEW WINDSOR - The driver of a car who landed in a creek in New Windsor overnight is now charged with DWI.

Police say the crash happened on Willow Lane and Mark Street shortly before midnight on Monday. They say speed and possibly black ice may have caused the accident. The car wound up on its side and a few telephone poles were also damaged.

The driver and two others were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

A section of Willow Lane was closed so utility crews could clear and repair the low-hanging wires.
