NORTH SALEM - A man was found dead inside a burning car Sunday evening at Metro-North's Purdy's station in North Salem.

Police responded to a call at the station at around 4:15 p.m. about a burning car. Inside, police say they found an unresponsive 40-year-old man. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the medical examiner. 

Nothing has been confirmed by police, but sources tell News 12 this is a homicide investigation.

MTA police say an autopsy will be done tomorrow by the medical examiner to determine the man's identity and official cause of death.
