NEW CITY - A minivan crash in Rockland has injured three Brooklyn men, including one victim who had his arm severed.

Police say a 2010 Toyota minivan crashed on the Palisades Interstate Parkway between exits 10 and 11 at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday. The driver of the vehicle, Shmuel T. Nissen, 27,told police that he swerved to avoid a deer, then hit the median and struck a tree.

The rear-seat passenger was Yeshayahu Levy, 41, was ejected from the van. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center with serious head trauma.

The front-seat passenger was Alexander Rosenblum, 32, had his right arm amputated below the bicep, and suffered a compound fracture of his left arm. He had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was also taken to Westchester Medical Center.

Nissen was taken to Nyack Hospital where he was treated and released.
