NEWBURGH - Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus met with the Newburgh City Council Monday to discuss a project that will provide the area with thousands of jobs.

The Montreign Resort Casino will be built in neighboring Sullivan County as part of a multimillion-dollar project.

Neuhaus told City Council members that in the next few weeks, he plans to provide a link on Orange County's website, along with physical applications, to expedite the job-application process.

City officials say this is a great opportunity because the casino is looking to hire 30 percent minorities, women and veterans for its workforce.

More than 3,000 construction jobs will be available and once the casino opens, more than 2,000 positions will available at the gaming center, many of them full-time, union jobs.

Neuhaus says that he is also working with Coach USA to provide transportation to the casino from Orange County.
