MONROE - A decades-old shop in Monroe is among the last of its kind in Orange County.

James Bacchiocchi is a cobbler who's been in the business of repairing shoes for 48 years, since he was just 12.

He buffs, shines and re-soles shoes. "When people like their shoes, they like to keep them nice. If they have a good comfortable pair of shoes, my motto is - if the shoe fits, fix it!" Bacchiocchi says.

Even though his shop is busy, Bacchiocchi worries that he's of a dying breed. He has no apprentice, as he once was to a cobbler before him.

"It's a dying trade and it's going to die with me," he says. Still, he has no plans to give it up any time soon.

"I'll keep doing this for as long as I breathe," Bacchiocchi says.
