MONROE - A downed power line caught fire and knocked out electricity to dozens of homes in Monroe over the weekend.

A News 12 viewer caught the sparking power line on camera as it burst into flames on Sunday.

Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly and were able to easily put the fire out.

Power was out for neighbors for a few hours, but was restored by the afternoon.
