MONROE - A power struggle between two administrations in Monroe is now causing political tension.

Anthony Cardone is Monroe's acting supervisor while Harley Doles is out on medical leave.

Doles has been out of work since December with what he said is a heart condition. He's missed the last three board meetings, but recently toured the town-owned movie theater with prospective buyers.

On Friday, Cardone said Doles stormed into Town Hall upset with the comptroller for reporting the theater is financially sinking.

"He was banging on Peter Martin's door. He was yelling and demanding he opened the door," said Cardone.

The Town Board has since passed a resolution banning Doles from interfering with theater operations, but for the most part, Cardone said that their hands are tied unless Doles resigns or they file legal action.

Doles said he is having heart surgery this week and plans to return to work.
