WEST NYACK - Schools closed and traffic was snarled during the morning commute Friday due to the wet and slushy conditions caused by the latest snowfall.

Most parts of Rockland County saw about 2 to 3 inches of snow. Conditions are expected to clear this afternoon with temperatures rising to about 39 degrees.

News 12 meteorologists say that the snow that melts this afternoon will refreeze tonight when the temperature drops into the 20s. Drivers are cautioned to take it slow on roadways.

Those who are flying out of Stewart Airport or Westchester County Airport are urged to check their flight schedules.
