KIRYAS JOEL - Thousands came out Wednesday night in Kiryas Joel to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Lag B'Omer with a huge bonfire.

The holiday honors the writings of a rabbi who died 1,900 years ago.

News 12 is told as many as 30,000 people gathered for the celebration at Satmar Shul on Garfield Road.

The event happens once every year.

Singing, dancing and food were also parts of the celebration.
