GOSHEN - Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus delivered his second State of the County address in Goshen.

In his address, Neuhaus spoke about cutting government spending by $30 million and making a push for more economic development. He also praised countrywide efforts to improve public safety in cities like Newburgh where he says homicides are down 80 percent.

"We've really transformed that place and at least reversed the trend on crime” said Neuhaus of Newburgh. “We still have more work to do, but we're really going to continue to focus on that area in the county.”

In the future, Neuhaus wants to focus on public health including launching an suicide prevention app and investing $300,000 to fight childhood hunger.
