HAMPTONBURGH - Residents turned out to the Orange County Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Hamptonburgh for a Sept. 11 memorial Friday night.

The atmosphere in the park was somber as people gathered to remember the 44 Orange County residents killed in the attacks.

"This is something they have to live with every day," said Richard Rose of the county's Parks and Recreation Department, speaking about the families of the victims.

"Once a year, we can certainly remind them that we understand, and we never forget either." Rose said. "It's important to remember this."
