HAMPTONBURGH - An Orange County woman who has roots in Ukraine traveled to Russia several days ago to show her support for Ukraine.

Orysia Dmytrenko left her Hamptonburgh home several days ago to go show her support for the country that is in crisis as it tries to remain independent from Russian influence.

Orysia is sharing her experiences through social media by blogging about her trip and posting to Twitter and Instagram.

"I hope to send the message that the cause of the Ukrainian people is a universal one in that they want to be able to live in a free and Democratic country," she says.
