WOODBURY - A 23-year-old Washingtonville man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Woodbury Sunday morning.

Woodbury police say it was dark and foggy when Jason Rutkowski was struck. He was walking across Route 32 on his way to work at the Guess Outlet at the Woodbury Common. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Officials say driver Thomas Ciampoli, 51, was taking his wife, a co-worker of Rutkowski, to the same location.

Police say Rutkowski did not break any traffic laws and was not charged with a crime. He also passed a field sobriety test at the scene.

Rutkowski leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
