Police: 1 injured in shooting outside Hurricane Grill on Central Park Avenue in Hartsdale

HARTSDALE - One person was injured after police say gunfire erupted outside a popular restaurant early Sunday morning in Hartsdale.

Hurricane Grill, on Central Park Avenue, usually closes at midnight on weekends, but bartender Julia Mondello says it stayed open later for a private party of about 150 people. Mondello described the party as "uneasy" from the start and it wasn't long before things got out of control.

Police say someone fired multiple shots outside the restaurant at around 2:30 a.m., hitting one man in the shoulder. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Several witnesses allegedly fled the scene and police are still looking for an unidentified male who may have been involved in an argument that could have triggered the shooting.
