MONROE - A wild police chase across three communities ended in a serious crash Monday night.

Police say the pursuit started in the village of Monroe, then traveled through Blooming Grove, before ending in the town of Chester by Rt. 17M.

The chase ended around 10 p.m. with the car off the road with its rear tires blown out, a road sign toppled and with heavy police presence.

One person was flown to the hospital for serious injuries.

Police have not detailed why the chase started or what charges have been filed.
