SUFFERN - Police say a human fetus was found Friday morning at the Suffern village sewage plant.

The fetus was discovered at around 8 a.m. by a worker who was cleaning out a sewer grate at the wastewater treatment plant adjacent to the Suffern Department of Public Works. The plant handles sewage from different parts of the village.

Officials say the 15-week-old male fetus was possibly discarded after a miscarriage.

Suffern police detectives and the Rockland County Sheriff's Department are investigating.
