Police raid Nanuet home after reports of violent robbery

NANUET - Clarkstown police were out in force early Sunday morning responding to what they thought was a hostage situation in Nanuet.

Police blocked off streets around the Albacon Road home for hours after receiving reports of a violent robbery at a New Year's Eve party. After hours of trying to gain contact with the suspects, police raided the home. However, the only person found inside was the homeowner, who was asleep in the basement.

Cops are investigating the incident as an armed robbery. Police say the homeowner was hit in the head with the gun and suffered minor injuries.

According to police, it appears both suspects were at the homeowner's house for the party before committing the crime. Some cash and electronics were taken.

No arrests have been made and there is nobody being questioned in connection with the crime.
