ORANGEBURG - Some Rockland County college students and staff members will be seeing Pope Francis in person this week.

Erica Descartes and Brianna Torres are just two of many Dominican College students who put their names in for a lottery to see the pope when he is in Manhattan on Friday.

Descartes and Torres are part of a group of 20 students and 20 faculty and staff members who won the lottery. The group will leave early Friday morning to make it to the pope's 6 p.m. Mass at Madison Square Garden.

The students say that before the visit, they will be preparing themselves for the crowds and chaos associated with seeing one of the world's most famous people.
