NYACK - Commuters caught a break on the snow earlier Monday morning, but they may be paying the price with additional potholes.

The terrible winter has been particularly harsh on the Palisades Interstate Parkway.

Approaching the George Washington Bridge heading into New Jersey or toward Rockland are trouble spots.

Pietro Pizzano, of Orangeburg, tells News 12 that he lost two tires to potholes on the parkway.

In addition to destroying tires, potholes can cause damage to a vehicle's suspension and alignment.

The Department of Transportation says this winter has been really rough on roads. It says crews have been making repairs and asks drivers to call its hotline to report any potholes they see.
