MIDDLETOWN - Power is back on for more than 50,000 customers of Orange & Rockland Utilities after a weekend power outage.

Electricity was fully restored just before sunrise on Sunday morning.

The outage stretched from the Hudson Valley to parts of Pennsylvania.

Because it covered such a wide area, O&R had to gradually restore power to prevent a second outage.

At the height of the blackout, all 28,000 residents of Middletown were without power
