WHITE PLAINS - The town supervisor of Ramapo appeared in White Plains Federal Court Thursday for a hearing.

Christopher St. Lawrence is facing federal fraud and corruption charges. Officials say he "cooked the books" to fund the Provident Bank Ballpark in Pomona at the taxpayers' expense.

Prosecutors told the judge during the hearing that there are more than 200,000 documents in evidence. The defense now has three months to review the documents.

St. Lawrence faces 20 years in prison if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

On Tuesday, St. Lawrence stepped down as chair of Rockland Sewer District 1 and the county's Solid Waste Management Authority.
