NEW CITY - More than a dozen cyclists took to the streets of Rockland County Wednesday evening to raise bicycle safety awareness.

The bicyclists who participated in the 13th annual Ride of Silence wore red armbands during the event. They also remained silent to honor people who have been injured or killed while cycling.

News 12 has learned that in the last year, three cyclists have died in Rockland County alone.

Two of those incidents were hit-and-runs.
