Rockland downgrades water restrictions

Rockland County is easing its water restrictions. Officials reduced the restrictions to Stage 1 after several weeks at the more prohibitive Stage 2.

NEW CITY - Rockland County is easing its water restrictions.

Officials reduced the restrictions to Stage 1 after several weeks at the more prohibitive Stage 2.

They say a combination of moderate rainfall and decreased water usage made the change possible.

The change means residents can once again hand wash their cars and water their lawns every other day instead of just twice a week.
