Rockland man charged with sexually assaulting child

TOMKINS COVE - A Rockland County man is behind bars today after police say he sexually assaulted a young child.

Police say Marc Melter, 25, of Tomkins Cove, is charged with assaulting a child under the age of seven on several occasions over the past month.

The 10-felony counts against Melter carry a max sentence of life in prison.

Melter is being held at Rockland County Jail without bail. He is due back in court on April 21.
